What are the benefits and how do I become a member?
Burton & District Beekeepers Association is a broad ranging group of people interested in bees. We are outgoing, knowledgeable, and active in promoting the craft of beekeeping with a varied membership ranging from expert beekeepers to beginners, and others just interested in bees, beekeeping, and related topics.
Our monthly face to face meetings are currently "on hold", but in 2021 we will be holding a series of "Zoom" talks on interesting bee related topics. More details are set out on the Events and News page.
Despite Covid we continue to establish our a Training Apiary and look forward to seeing all Members there when the new season gets into swing.
Every Autumn we hold our annual "Honey Show" in central Burton. Entrants compete for a number of coveted prizes and exhibits are on show to the public.
Other benefits of membership include Bee Diseases and Public Liability Insurance, and opportunities to take part in local, regional, and national events (when these take place!). We run beginners courses and also help members who intend to work through the BBKA examination system.
